LCF Volunteer Jerry White makes Charity Village awards shortlist!
Congratulations Jerry!
Dr. Jerry White has made the 10-person shortlist for the final of the Charity Village Most Outstanding Impact - Volunteer award.
Dr. Jerry White sits on LCF’s Board of Directors and is Chair of the Vital Signs Committee – LCF’s annual check-up on the state of the community which identifies our region’s most pressing needs and underpins our granting strategy. He is also Chair of LCF’s Social Finance Committee, leading our impact investing strategy, and our work to increase granting to Indigenous and other underrepresented groups.
Under Jerry’s leadership, LCF’s Vital Signs has evolved from a collection of data to an integral community asset that provides tangible calls to action, helping all who engage with it to make London a more equitable community. Through this role, he has spearheaded the creation of a community data hub to enable accessibility to local data for community planning, local non-profits, and advocacy work. His expertise and enthusiasm for his role have helped elevate LCF’s reputation as a leader in community knowledge and changemaker. Jerry’s contributions have led to LCF being recognized by Community Foundations of Canada as a national leader in this area of our work.
Jerry has dedicated his career to improving the well-being of Indigenous Peoples and works tirelessly to advance equity in our community. Jerry’s expertise in Indigenous issues and the connections he helped us build with Indigenous Peoples has resulted in increased support of Indigenous-lead or serving organizations. Amongst other achievements, Jerry is the Founder and Director of the Aboriginal Policy Research Consortium (International), was co-chair and organizer of the Aboriginal Policy Research Conference (2002, 2006, 2009), and has served on the board of N’Amerind.
Jerry gives every moment he can to LCF, to the point where (against our wishes!) he responds to emails on behalf of LCF while on holiday. His passion is contagious, and his expertise, dedication, and mentorship to other volunteers make him a truly irreplaceable member of the LCF team.
