The Mies Bervoets Scholarship is a program dedicated to supporting aspiring culinary and hospitality professionals in their pursuit of excellence. Named in honour of the remarkable Mies Bervoets, the first female board member of the Canadian Federation of Chefs de Cuisine, this fund celebrates her outstanding work ethic and contagious passion for culinary.
Designed to empower and inspire the next generation of culinary talents, the Mies Bervoets Scholarship offers financial assistance to individuals who display unwavering dedication, commitment, and merit in the fields of culinary or hospitality.

The scholarship will be for the following categories:
Mies Bervoets Scholarship Fund for Indigenous Students
To qualify for this scholarship you must be a student registered with the Institute of Indigenous Learning at Fanshawe College. You must be a first year student who started their program in September 2024. The recipient will be selected from a combination of High School marks plus hospitality industry work experience and community involvement. In-case of a tie, the highest academic marks will determine the successful candidate. The recipient needs to be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
Students must be registered in one of the following programs:
Culinary Management
Culinary Skills
Baking and Pastry Arts Management
Food and Beverage Management
Nutrition and Food Services Management
Hospitality - Hotel and Resort Services Management
Mies Bervoets Scholarship Fund – Top First Year Culinary Management Program
This scholarship is for a student who completed their first year of the Culinary Management Program in April 2024 and is continuing into the 2nd year of the program in September 2024. The recipient will be selected from a combination of Fanshawe College marks plus hospitality industry work experience and community involvement. In-case of a tie the highest academic marks from the first year of the program will determine the successful candidate. To qualify for this scholarship you need to be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
