Matthew Pieszchala Foundation
Giving back has been part of Kathleen Pieszchala’s value system since she was a young girl. As the daughter of a poor Polish immigrant who came to Canada during the Great Depression, she’s never forgotten the hardships her family endured as they built a life in Canada.
Kathleen describes her late father Matthew as an honest, hardworking, trustworthy man.
“Dad had a kindness that helped others, be it family, friends or community,” she says. “His love and generosity for his community, and humankind, inspired me.”
Before his death in 2015, Kathleen discussed with Matthew creating a foundation in his honour. Today, the Matthew Pieszchala Foundation actively supports a number of meaningful projects in his memory. Priority programs include the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, Youth for Christ, the Canadian Red Cross, New Song Church (feeding Windsor), Mission Services of London and The Salvation Army (withdrawal management).
