Joanne and Tony Crncich Family Fund
Tony and Joanne Crncich raised a busy and active family, which includes six children, 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to date. Many of the family members spent a good part of their growing-up years in London, and most are still living here, enjoying their careers and families. Tony was a pharmacist, visionary and Canadian business icon who, with his friend and business partner Mahlon Dyer, founded Big V Drug Stores in 1962.
After many years of ad hoc philanthropic endeavours, the Crncichs formally put their generosity into action in 2000 when they created their endowment fund. Their intention was to support causes that are meaningful to their family, such as the healthy development of children and youth and women’s and family initiatives.
Tony passed away in October 2017 and his legacy lives on through the Joanne and Tony Crncich Family Fund. The family has granted to a number of local programs including Cognitive Vitality and Brain Health at St. Joseph’s Health Care London, the Boys & Girls Club and London Community Chaplaincy. Joanne and Tony’s ever-growing family will continue on, giving back to this wonderful community.
