Tom and Sue Allan Family Fund
Sue Allan and her late husband, Tom, both grew up in families where giving back was encouraged. Although their capacity was limited, each family gave what they could in time and funds. Together, Sue and Tom always knew they wanted to make a lasting difference through giving – but it wasn’t until Tom was recruited by J. Allyn Taylor as a volunteer at London Community Foundation that the Allans understood all the Foundation had to offer.
Sue established their Donor-Advised Fund, the Tom and Sue Allan Family Fund, in 2006. Now, with the couple’s two grown daughters, she has been able to support a number of initiatives that are meaningful to their family including the Adopt a Pony program at SARI Therapeutic Riding; Recovery through Creative Arts, a mental health program at St. Joseph’s Health Care London; and the Speech-Language Pathology iPad project at London Health Sciences Centre.
