Vital Schools

Vital Schools Grant Program aims to improve neighbourhoods throughout London and Middlesex County by supporting ideas that make a difference. Using our Vital Signs Report® as a guide, we welcome you to let us know how one (or more) of the issue areas identified in the report affect the neighbourhood of your school, and what you can do to make a difference. 

Eligibility
Proposals will be accepted from individuals, teams, classrooms, or clubs and:

  • Must be implemented by the end of 2012
  • Must take place in the neighbourhood of your school
  • Must reflect our Granting principles
  • Must address at least one issue area identified in London’s Vital Signs Report ®
  • Applicants must be in Grade 9 – 12 - Attending high school
  • Applicants must be working under the guidance of a local charitable organization or teacher *

* Note: If you do not have a local community organization involved in your project from the start, we will attempt to partner you with one. They will be your guide and provide the award money as needed.

Funding
London Community Foundation will award a total of $5,000 (5 grants of $1,000 each) from the Foundation's Community Fund. 
 
How to apply:
Applications are limited to 2 pages maximum, and must include:

  • Name of the affiliated school, class or club
  • Contact information
  • A summary of your Vital Schools Idea, including project description, where in London it will happen, how it relates to Vital Signs ®, and how you will take action.
  • A timeline and budget
