In 1994, the largest single gift in the history of the Foundation was made by Cold Springs Farm’s founder and President, the late W. Harvey Beaty.

With his generous $3.6M donation, The Cold Springs Farm Fund in honour of Harvey and Erma Beaty was established. As with all endowed donations, the capital amount will be held in perpetuity by the Community Foundation with the interest distributed for charitable and community works with particular emphasis on projects in the counties of Middlesex and Oxford relating to food safety and security, outreach and education, and environmental stewardship.

Each year a team appointed by Cold Springs Farm works with London Community Foundation to select local charities to benefit from this named fund.

The Beatys created this legacy to honour the community that has supported the company’s growth and is a natural extension of the company’s culture of community mindedness.
