Vitality depends on long-term resources for long-term solutions—so we work with donors to build endowment funds that ensure vital futures for communities. When you support the Community Fund, your gift is endowed in perpetuity as an unrestricted donation. The capital and earnings from all unrestricted donations make up London's Community Fund. 

Think of the Community Fund as London's permanent community endowment. It supports all aspects of our community’s well-being by funding innovative grant programs from the Community Vitality Grant Program to Vital Schools.

Projects funded by the Community Fund encompass the following areas: 

• arts and culture
• economic development
• education
• environment
• health and social services
• neighbourhood revitalization and more

Each year, local charities are invited to apply for Community Fund grants through various Community Foundation granting programs. Your gift – and all future earnings from your gift – become a permanent source of community capital, helping to do good work forever. We invite you to give back to your community by making a gift to the Community Fund. Charitable tax receipts are issued for any gift $20 or more.

Are you ready to create a named fund within the Community Fund?

You can establish your own named fund with an initial donation of $1,000 and a four-year pledge to reach the $5,000 fund minimum. Name the fund for you, your family, your business, or for a special person in your life. Your gift can be made during your lifetime or through a bequest in your will. You can give cash, appreciated stocks, real estate, or other assets. You receive tax benefits in the year your gift(s) is made.

Anyone can contribute to your named Community Fund and help grow the capital. Earnings from your named fund are pooled with other unrestricted donations.
